Spring festival in Nepal
It is Holi today in Nepal. Holi is known as festival of colors to celebrate arriving Spring. It starts one week before the main day on the full moon. Full moon is "Purnima" in Nelali and this festival is called Fagu Purnima Festival too. Fagu is the eleventh month in Nepali calendar. Holi is official holiday and offices are closed. People get together with their family and friends, relatives to smear their faces with colored powder, sometimes painted from head to toe.ネパールは今日Holiです。Holiは色のお祭りとして知られており、春の訪れをお祝いします。満月の日が祭日ですが、1週間前から始まります。満月はネパール語で「プルニマ」といい、このお祭りはFaguPurnimaとも呼ばれます。Faguとはネパール暦上の11月です。
Holiは祝日で、会社はお休み。みんな家族や友達、親戚などと集まって顔に色の粉を塗りつけますが、体中塗りたくられるときもあります。
I haven't experienced but seeing pictures San, my friend in Nepal, sent me, I can tell people fully enjoyed playing with colors.
The color is dry powder. People pour water to others and smear colors.
わたしは実際体験したことないですが、サンが送ってくれた写真を見ると、みんな色で遊んで楽しそう。
色は粉です。水をかけあって、色を付けあいます。
In Durbar Square a huge amount of people get together to paint each other, dancing and singing.
ダルバールスクエアには、ものすごい人が集まって色を塗りあったり、踊ったり歌ったりしています。
Color festival in Japan 日本の色のお祭り
This is originally a hindu festival but nowadays non-hindu people also celebrate it. And the date which people celebrate is different from countries to countries and districts to districts. Today it is the festival in Kathmandu and it will be tomorrow in Pokhara.Actually the Color festival has been held in Japan even like this. It is called "Color run". It is transformed to an event for running. Runners run through "color zone" where powder colored is showered. このお祭りはもともとヒンズー教のものですが、最近では南アジアのヒンズー教以外の人もお祝いします。また日付も国によって、地方によって違います。今日はカトマンズでお祭りですが、ポカラは昨日だっだそうです。
また、実は日本でもこのお祭りがされています。「カラーラン」です。ランニングのイベントに形を変えています。ランナーが「カラーゾーン」と呼ばれる色の粉の中を走るそうです。
