Merigolds
You will see this marigold flowers so often in Nepal. This is called sayepatri in Nepal. Offering flowers to gods and goodness is ssential to worship the deity. It is common in Japan.
Marigold is called sayepatri in Nepal. "Saye" means a hundred and "patri" means layers.
このマリーゴールドはネパールでよく見かけます。神様にお花をお供えするのは、欠かせないことです。日本もほぼ同じですね。
マリーゴールドはネパール語でサイパトリといいます。サイは１００、パトリは重ねるという意味です。
Gods have their own favorite flowers
In Japan Chrysanthemum morifolium flowers are common to be offered to gods and it is not so strict. I mean we don't have systems about flower's color and kinds. But with Hindu gods, it is diffrernt.日本では菊の花を神様にお供えするのが一般的ですが、さほど厳しいルールはないです。つまり、お花の色や種類についてルールはないですよね。ヒンドゥーでは違います。
This marigolds can't be offered to all hingu gods. There are a ritural that each hindu dieties should be offered specific flowers and some gods should not be offered.
They have their own favorite folowers to be offered. It is interesting.
マリーゴールドは全部の神様にお供えしてよいわけではないです。ヒンドゥーの神様には、それぞれ供えるべき花があり、またお花を供えてはいけない神様もいます。
神様によって好きなお花があるんですね。面白い。
But I remember this orange marigolds were the most impressive. I saw flower vendors on the streets selling brihgt colored marigolds and marigolds offered to gods in a house. This folower is associated to Nepal very much to me.
でも、このオレンジ色のマリーゴールドの花が一番記憶に残っています。道にいた花売りも明るい色のマリーゴールドを打っていたし、マリーゴールドが家の神様にも供えられていました。
